Transportation Applications
VEC Composite Technology is perfectly suited to manufacturing larger composite parts for the transportation industry. The imperfections inherent in traditional hand-laid or vacuum bagged composite manufacturing are magnified when producing larger parts. Inconsistencies, such as variations in dimensional thickness or voids in the composite lamination are relatively common in traditional composite manufacturing. These inconsistencies are extremely detrimental to the overall strength and performance of large composite parts. Every VEC parts is made to most exacting precision because VEC Composites is able to control all aspects of the manufacturing process. During the VEC process, our computer systems monitor hundreds of variables including temperature, dynamic pressures, humidity, gel times and peak exotherms. These systems automatically adjust the components to produce a composite part that is cured in consistently optimal conditions. By monitoring these variables, we can diagnose problems before they occur. The entire VEC process is monitored by our team of engineers at our VEC command center in Greenville, Pennsylvania.
