Applications

VEC Technology, L.L.C., commercialized its VEC Cell and Floating Mold technologies in many markets, including construction equipment, recreational vehicles, heavy truck, earth-moving equipment, institutional furniture, marine, material handling, and automotive.

A VEC Cell is designed to produce closed-mold composite parts, which can produce molded parts with exterior surfaces as follow:

Pigmented Resin is a color additive united with the resin to pigment the part. This finish is typically used only in non-cosmetic applications.

VEC Gelcoat
Sandable Gelcoat is a sandable grade gelcoat, which is sprayed into the mold before molding the part. This application creates a smooth paint-ready surface.
Colored Gelcoat is a paint-quality gelcoat which is sprayed into the mold before molding the part. This application creates an in-mold colored part that eliminates post painting.

VEC-Shield (patent pending) is a thermoformed, laminated sheet that is inserted into the mold before molding the part. This application creates an in-mold colored part that eliminates post painting. The durability, toughness, and gloss of VEC-Shield parts are superior to both painted and gelcoated parts.

VEC Technology expanded its Floating Mold techology to include Reaction Injection Molding (VEC RIM) applications. Our Floating Mold technology has successfully molded parts using urethane resins to create cost-effective carpetless floors for vehicles, as well as mold structural and flexible foam for complex shapes.
